New school for Norman Bay

Ernie McLean, Minister Responsible for Labrador and MHA - Lake Melville, said today that he has been advised by Roger Grimes, Minister of Education, that $300,000 has been allocated for a new school at Norman Bay.

Mr. McLean said the new, two-room, K-12 school will replace the existing two-room school in the community.

Mr. McLean said: "I am extremely pleased that construction of this school has been approved. The construction of this facility is a top priority of the Department of Education and work on the project will begin within the next two weeks."

The school will be operated by the Northern Peninsula/Labrador South School Board.
