The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Pepsi Bantam Girls Provincial Championships

On April 11 and 12 the towns of Lumsden, Wesleyville, Musgrave Harbour, and Carmanville will be hosting the Pepsi Bantam Girls Volleyball Provincial Championships. Games will be played at Lumsden School Complex, Lester Pearson Memorial, Gill Memorial and Caramville School Complex. The tournament will feature 22 teams from around the province. The teams will be divided up into four divisions of five teams with a round-robin format to be played within each division. The top two teams in each division will advance to the quarter-finals. Divisional play will get underway on Friday, April 11 at 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will continue on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. The playoffs will start around 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the bronze medal match at about 8:30 p.m. and the gold medal match at about 9:30 p.m., all to be played at Lumsden School Complex.

The teams competing in this tournament include Lumsden Loopers 1 and 2, CBS Raven's 7's and 8's, Strikers (Marystown), Presentation 7's and 8's (Corner Brook), G.C. Rowe (Corner Brook), St. Joseph's (Harbour Breton), Bursey Blazers (Grand Falls-Windsor), Trinity Bay Volleyball Club (Catalina), G.A. Mercer (Corner Brook), Clarenville Tigers, Kings Academy (Harbour Breton), Partanna Ace (Grand Falls-Windsor), St. Boniface (Bell Island), Discovery Collegiate (Bonavista), Carmanville Loopers, G.Shaw Collegiate (Summerford), Pasadena, and SMS Diggers.
