Newfoundland and Labrador, the Far East of the Western World, will once again be profiled to an international audience when lifestyles guru Martha Stewart features the province on her incredibly popular program, Martha Stewart Living. The half hour show airs Thursday, November 13 at 3:30 p.m. and again at 10:30 p.m. (NT) on the Life Network.

Martha Stewart recently spent a few days in the province in conjunction with Expedia's Mungo Park, Microsoft's online adventure travel magazine. Newfoundland and Labrador was the featured destination for the month of September 1997. The Newfoundland expedition is archived on the Mungo Park site at www.mungopark.com.

During her time in the province, Martha Stewart took part in a sea-kayaking trip to beautiful Woody Island, Placentia Bay that will be featured as a segment of the November 13 program.

Martha Stewart Living airs in some 200 markets, covering 96 per cent of the United States, to a total viewing audience of about 4.5 million people. As the creator and host of Martha Stewart Living, Martha shares with viewers her enthusiasm for cooking, gardening, entertaining, collecting and restoring in a practical, hands-on approach. The show offers a mix of creative, entertaining and useful suggestions presented by Martha in a manner that is thorough, easy to follow and inviting to viewers. In addition, there is now an official Martha Stewart Living web site at www.marthastewart.com

On the same program, Martha will talk about her experiences on the Mungo Park trip. The Mungo Park Expedition to the Eastern Edge was sponsored by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Operation Online, Canadian Heritage, and the Canada/Newfoundland Agreement on Economic Renewal.
