Amendment of Notice of Caribou hunt in McPhadyen River and Michidamau West extension zones

Further to the earlier announcement of the opening of these zones, Mr. Aylward noted that hunting is also permitted in part of the Colville Lake Zone between the Gabbrow water control and the Esker railway siding, within one kilometre south of the Esker/Churchill Falls access road. This will allow hunters to harvest caribou on both sides of the road.

"Given the geography of the area, this extension is consistent with past hunting practises," commented the minister. "Boundaries on a map do not always reflect the reality of the lay of the land, therefore, we believe that this extension is a logical and enforceable decision."
