Stock Cove Resource Road Project

Beaton Tulk, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, and Roger Fitzgerald, MHA - Bonavista South are pleased to announce the award of a contract for the extension of the Stock Cove Resource Road.

The $20,500 contract was awarded to Roll's Ltd. of Bonavista. The six people employed will construct one kilometre of class C road to branch off the existing Stock Cove Road. Mr. Tulk stated: "The construction of this type of road will provide passage to the forest area to those involved in the timber industry, in addition to allowing access to those involved in silviculture treatment and forest protection."

Mr. Fitzgerald added that he was pleased the contract will proceed, ensuring access to the commercially viable timber in the area.

The starting date for the project is June 13, and will run for three weeks. A total of six people will be employed.
