Weather conditions affect Gulf Ferry schedule

High winds and adverse sea conditions have disrupted scheduled sailings of Marine Atlantic's MV Caribou between North Sydney and Port aux Basques.

Gulf service general manager Peter McInnis says that while wind conditions have improved, the seas still have a heavy swell which is also affecting the Caribou's crossing time.

"In order to keep traffic moving, we'll be operating on a load and go schedule for the next couple of days," McInnis says. "We would encourage prospective travellers or passengers with reservations to contact our reservations office through our toll-free number for updates on departures."

The reservations office can be reached at 1-800-341-7981.

Contact: Doug Burgess, Public Relations Director, (709) 772-5731.
