Road contract awarded for the supply and installation of culverts at 40 locations on the Trans Labrador Highway

Julie Bettney, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Doug Oldford, M.H.A. - Trinity North, are pleased to announce that a $284,131 contract (Project #23-96 TSC) has been awarded to J-1 Contracting Ltd. of Clarenville.

The contract calls for the culvert replacement on R230-A near George's Brook, and several other locations.

This is a joint project between Transport Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador under the Atlantic Freight Transition Program.

J-1 Contracting Ltd. was the lowest of six bidders. This project is to be completed by August 31, 1996.
