Volleyball association to host girls provincial championships, Marystown


The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association will be hosting the Pepsi Midget B Provincial Championship this weekend February 23-24 in Marystown. The championship will feature 14 teams split into three divisions. Division A will have Strikers Bantam A from Marystown; Christ The King, Rushoon; Labrador West, St. Mark's; Shearstown and Botwood Divas. Division B will feature two more Strikers teams, MacBeth's and Midget B, Botwood Divas 2, Exploits River Rats and Ascension Collegiate from Bay Roberts. Division C will have the fourth Strikers team, St. Joseph's Academy from Harbour Breton, Partanna Academy from Musgravetown and Windsor Collegiate.

The tournament will be played at Marystown Central High and Sacred Heart School with matches scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday with the playoffs scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Saturday. All awards for this provincial championship are being supplied by Pepsi who are the sponsor of minor volleyball in Newfoundland and Labrador.
