February 19, 1996 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) 1996 Newfoundland Sectional and Adult Precision Skating Championships
The most spirited club in attendance at the competition as voted by
the skaters themselves was the Silver Shadows team from Silver Blades
Figure Club in Corner Brook. The Les Petite Ensemble team from Silver Blades FSC in Corner Brook has taken the Aspell Trophy and the gold medal in the Town of Lewisporte Novice event, the silver medal went to the Icicles team from Conception Bay North, while the bronze went to the Signals team from St. John's FS Club. In the Marine Atlantic Juvenile event, the Swan Family Trophy and the gold medal has gone to the Ice Pix team from St. John's Figure Skating Club, the silver medal went to the Starlight team from Mount Pearl Figure Skating Club and the bronze medal went to Peppermint Twist from the Silver Blades Figure Skating Club in Corner Brook. In the 1996 Newfoundland Sectional Adult Precision Skating Championships, the Class Act team from the St. John's FS Club took the gold medal and the Travel Management Trophy in the Shoppers Drug Mart Adult category, Ice Buckets from Conception Bay North were second and Sharp Edges from Mount Pearl were third.
