The following is being distributed at the request of John Cabot (1997) 500th Anniversary Corporation:

Early Start of Cabot 500 Celebration

The Newfoundland and Labrador Multicultural and Folk Arts Council Board of Directors will plant 500 large crocus bulbs in Bannerman Park in St. John's, Saturday, October 26, at 2:00 pm.

The event is to commemorate the Cabot 500 Celebrations in 1997. The NLMFAC has secured an area in Bannerman Park known as the Peace Grove - the corner of Rennie's Mill Road and Circular Road.

The public and members of the NLMFAC are invited and encouraged to participate in the planting.

In case of inclement weather, the planing will take place the following day (Sunday) at the same time.
