NOTE TO EDITORS:

Itinerary for Minister and Premier, May 25-27

Premier Brian Tobin and Tourism, Culture and Recreation Minister Sandra Kelly, will be in Bristol, England attending the International Festival of the Sea from May 24-27, 1996.

The premier and the minister will be participating in several events throughout the weekend including the "Dedication of the Matthew" and events at the Newfoundland and Labrador Pavilion.

The following is an itinerary of events for the weekend.

SATURDAY, MAY 25
  • 12:00 p.m.
    Lunch hosted by British Admiralty on board the Paddle
    Steamer "Waverly." Location dockside near the
    Newfoundland and Labrador Pavilion
  • Spend the afternoon in Newfoundland and Labrador pavilion and visiting other pavilions and festival events.
  • 8:30 p.m.
    Premier to host Cabot 500 reception at the
    Newfoundland and Labrador pavilion
SUNDAY, MAY 26
  • 11:00 a.m. - St. Mary Redcliffe Church
    502nd Rush Sunday service followed by reception hosted by
    Lord Mayor of Bristol
  • Spend the afternoon in the Newfoundland and Labrador pavilion and
    visiting other pavilions and festival events.
  • 7:00 p.m.
    Micheal Slade and St. John Hartnell will host the premier
    and other guests to "an evening on the barque", The Earle
    of Pembroke - dockside near Newfoundland and Labrador pavilion.

MONDAY, MAY 27
  • Spend the afternoon in Newfoundland pavilion and visiting other
    pavilions and festival events.
  • 12:30 p.m. - Lunch hosted by the Lord Mayor of Bristol
  • 3:30 p.m. - Media briefing in Newfoundland and Labrador pavilion
  • 7:00 p.m. - Embark for dinner aboard "the Earle of Pembroke"
  • 8:00 p.m. - Dedication of the Matthew
  • 10:00 p.m. - Premier to address closing of evening event
