Public Advisory: Construction Work to Begin on Outer Ring Road, Trans-Canada Highway

  • Transportation and Works

August 13, 2018

Motorists on the Avalon Peninsula are advised of road construction scheduled to start on Route 1, Outer Ring Road and the Trans-Canada Highway, beginning Tuesday, August 14.

This work consists of repaving sections of the Outer Ring Road between Kenmount Road and Torbay Road and sections of the Trans-Canada Highway between the Avondale Access Road and Whitbourne.

Work is expected to continue for two weeks.

As this is a high speed, high traffic volume route, motorists are reminded to expect traffic delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Motorists are also asked to reduce speeds due to crews and equipment working in the roadway and sections of the highway where asphalt will have been removed.

Progress updates will be available on the department’s construction slow-downs page, available at www.roads.gov.nl.ca, and via Twitter, @TW_GovNL .
