Mariners are advised that the Placentia Lift Bridge will remain closed to marine traffic to facilitate repairs to the bridge.

The bridge was initially closed to marine traffic due to a damaged cable reel and an electrical junction box. The electrical junction box has since been repaired. A cable reel replacement has been ordered and is expected to be delivered in approximately four weeks.

The Department of Transportation and Works apologizes for any inconvenience. Updates will be provided as work progresses to reopen the lift bridge to marine traffic.
