  • Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner

April 25, 2018

“We are Connected – Control–Alt–Delete: Control Data, Use Alternatives, and Delete Risks” is the theme of the 2018 APSIM Conference. To this end, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, together with the College of the North Atlantic; the Office of the Chief Information Officer; the Department of Health and Community Services; Memorial University; Eastern Health; the ATIPP Office, the Department of Justice and Public Safety; and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information have developed a conference that promotes collaboration and builds awareness of the overlap and interplay between the access, privacy, security and information management communities. Our goal is to facilitate our ability to assist each other in managing, protecting and securing information.

The Conference will be held at Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine, Health Sciences Centre on April 30 – May 2, 2018, and there is no cost to attend.

Conference highlights include: keynote addresses from Nora Young, host and creator of CBC’s Spark; and Travis Barlow and Derrick Westhaver of GoSecure Inc. In all there will be two workshops, four plenary presentations, and nine breakout sessions focused on the access, privacy, security and information management fields.

The OIPC would like to thank the 2018 Steering Committee for their work planning this event.
