Media Advisory: Release of Collaborative Report from Auditors General on Perspectives on Climate Change Action in Canada

On behalf of the Auditors General of most provinces as well as the Auditor General of Canada, the federal Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Julie Gelfand, will be presenting a collaborative report titled “Perspectives on Climate Change Action in Canada: A Collaborative Report from Auditors General” for tabling in the House of Commons on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.

This collaborative report builds on audit work released over the last 18 months in most provinces, in the three northern territories and at the federal level to provide an overall assessment of whether federal, provincial, and territorial governments have met their commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change. The collaborative report will provide an independent, big picture review of the state of governmental actions on climate change commitments across the country.

The The report will be made available on our website immediately following tabling in the House of Commons, at approximately 11:30 am NST (www.ag.gov.nl.ca/ag/reports.htm).

Commissioner Gelfand, a number of provincial Auditors General, and a spokesperson on the territorial audits will hold a technical briefing for the media via webcast. Media wishing to participate in this technical must sign up here .
