House of Assembly Launches French Content on its Website

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Honourable Perry Trimper, is pleased to announce the addition of French content on the House of Assembly website (www.assembly.nl.ca) external link icon.

The House of Assembly launched a new website on December 4, 2017. Throughout the redevelopment process, the priority was on converting and updating all of its English content on the new site. Once that was completed, the Legislature began work, in collaboration with the Office of French Services, to translate and develop French content.

The translated content includes sections that are more stable in nature such as contact information; information under the “Visit and Learn” section; and information under the “About” section. A complete list of content available in French is included in the backgrounder below.

Quote
“I am pleased that for the first time since the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador has had an online presence, we will now be offering content in French. I would like to thank the Office of French Services for their support in working with our website team to translate and develop the new French content.”
Honourable Perry Trimper
