The public is advised that Cataract Surgery Information Line is no longer in service.

The Cataract Surgery Information Line was established in February after the Department of Health and Community Services received complaints that some patients had been asked to pay directly for a medical service covered by MCP.

The department wishes to thank the more than 600 people who called in and provided details of their experiences. An analysis of the information is now underway and once that analysis is complete, the department will provide an update.
