Public Advisory: Salmon Licences Available on East Coast, Avalon Peninsula

  • Fisheries and Land Resources

June 7, 2018

Recreational salmon licences for the east coast and Avalon Peninsula are currently being processed and picked up by vendors, and are available for purchase at some locations today.

Licences are expected to be available for purchase in Labrador next week and a further announcement will be made when non-resident licences are available – also anticipated next week.

For the 2018 angling season only, all resident salmon licences will be sold for $5 plus HST. Non-resident licences will continue to cost $80 plus HST and a $5-vendor fee.

Anglers are permitted to retain one salmon until the Department of Fisheries and Oceans conducts an in-season review July 20. The Provincial Government has amended regulations under the Wild Life Act to cap catch-and-release salmon angling activity at a maximum of 10 salmon per licence until July 20.
