Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary Bragg Attending National Seal Products Day in Ottawa

Derrick Bragg, Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries and Land Resources, will attend a reception on Parliament Hill in Ottawa recognizing National Seal Products Day today, May 22, at 3:30 p.m.

Parliamentary Secretary Bragg will be joining Speaker of the House Geoff Regan; the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs; Yvonne Jones, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs and Member of Parliament for Labrador; and Pauloosie Suvega, Deputy Minister of Environment, Nunavut.

Dignitaries and guests will view displays of seal products by Canadian producers, designers and artists organized by the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador and partners to highlight the economic and cultural importance of Canada’s sealing industry. A similar event was held in Newfoundland and Labrador at Confederation Building on May 17.
