The Honourable Judy Foote, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, are encouraging all residents to consider nominating recipients for the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador. The deadline for nominations is October 31, 2018.
As the province’s highest form of recognition, the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour benefiting, in an outstanding manner, Newfoundland and Labrador and its residents.
Anyone can nominate a deserving Newfoundlander and Labradorian who has made a significant contribution to their community or province. The first investiture took place in 2004 and to date, 100 recipients have received this honour. Nomination packages can be found at gov.nl.ca/onl/order-of-nl-fillable-form-2/
Recipients will be honoured at a formal ceremony at Government House.
Quotes
“I applaud those who have been invested into the
Order of Newfoundland and Labrador. I know there are many more deserving of the
honour. I look forward to participating in my first investiture ceremony as
Lieutenant Governor and sharing this special day with more of our citizens who
will receive this recognition.”

“Having seen the pride and excitement on the faces of past recipients, their
families and their nominators, I know how much the Order of Newfoundland and
Labrador means to them. I encourage anyone who knows of a deserving

names forward for this honour.”
