  • Executive Council

August 17, 2018

The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, will be speaking at the Pink Carnation Ceremony as part of the Sunsplash Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival, tomorrow (August 18, 2018) at 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at Octagon Pond in Paradise.

Avalon Dragon Boating is an officially incorporated not-for-profit organization, dedicated to supporting dragon boating for breast cancer survivors in Newfoundland and Labrador. Since being founded in 2006, the Avalon Dragons Team has grown from 22 paddlers who built their own dragon boat, to more than 60 active members – all breast cancer survivors. The town of Paradise has been partnering with this organization on the annual Paddle in Paradise Dragon Boat Festival for almost a decade.
