Media Advisory: Indigenous Leaders Roundtable to be Held in Corner Brook

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be joined by leaders of Indigenous Governments and Organizations for the second annual Indigenous Leaders Roundtable tomorrow (Friday, June 8) in Corner Brook. The roundtable will take place at the Sir Richard Squires Building.

Media are invited to speak with all participants following an announcement at 8:30 a.m. at the Office of the Premier, 10th floor. Participants will also be available to discuss meeting outcomes at a news conference at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.

Joining Premier Ball and the Indigenous leaders will be the Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources; the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development; the Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Health and Community Services; the Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Attorney General and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment; Mark Browne, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation; Randy Edmunds, MHA for Torngat Mountains; John Finn, MHA for Stephenville – Port au Port; and Scott Reid, MHA for St. George’s – Humber.

An initiative of The Way Forward, the Indigenous Leaders Roundtable provides a unique opportunity for the Provincial Government to collaborate with Indigenous leaders on matters of mutual interest.
