Turnout from Second Day of Advance Poll Voting in Windsor Lake By-Election

Polls closed at 8:00 p.m. this evening (September 15) for the second day of Advance Poll voting in Windsor Lake. Votes were cast at four polls in two locations: Macdonald Drive Junior High School and Roncalli Elementary School. The preliminary total of votes cast is as follows:

On the first day of Advance voting on Thursday, September 13, 684 votes were cast which, combined with today’s votes, gives a total of 1439 votes cast at the Advance Polls. Comparatively, in the 2015 Provincial General Election, 889 votes were cast during one day of Advance voting in the district of Windsor Lake.

By-election day is Thursday, September 20. In order to be eligible to vote, an elector must be at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador and a resident of the district of Windsor Lake on polling day.

To find out where to vote, registered electors are encouraged to reference the green Voter Information Cards mailed out to them last week by Elections Newfoundland and Labrador.

Additionally, voting locations may be obtained by calling the district Returning Office at 576-4828, calling Elections Newfoundland and Labrador at 729-7987 or visiting the Elections Newfoundland and Labrador website: www.elections.gov.nl.ca.
