The Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour and Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will attend the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), July 5-6 in Vancouver.

Topics to be discussed include Indigenous education, the well-being of students in schools and on campuses, and Canadian education on the world stage. Minister Hawkins will also participate in a Symposium on Indigenizing Teacher Education.

Founded in 1967, CMEC is a collective voice for Canada’s Ministers of Education and Post-secondary Education. It provides leadership in education at the pan-Canadian and international levels.
