Media Advisory: Minister Hawkins to Introduce Province-wide Welcoming Communities Initiative in Grand Falls-Windsor

The Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, will join the Central Regional Meeting of Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador to launch the Welcoming Communities Initiative. The announcement will take place at the Mount Peyton Hotel, Grand Falls-Windsor, tomorrow (Friday, April 20) at 12.30 p.m.

The Welcoming Communities Initiative is a key priority in The Way Forward on Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador, the province’s collaborative, partnership-driven immigration action plan and roadmap to increasing immigration to the province to 1,700 newcomers annually by 2022.
