A Request for Proposals (RFP) has been issued for projects or events to promote inter-cultural understanding during Multiculturalism Week in Newfoundland and Labrador. The RFP supports a commitment in The Way Forward on Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador to increase the number and reach of Multiculturalism Week events throughout the province.

Held annually during the third week of March, Multiculturalism Week celebrates diversity in our province and the contributions of newcomers to the cultural fabric of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is traditionally marked with festivals showcasing cultures that call Newfoundland and Labrador home. Residents also display multi-coloured lights on homes, businesses and government buildings to demonstrate support for multiculturalism.

Eligible applicants include cultural groups and associations, established non-profit community organizations, municipal governments, public entities such as schools, and non-governmental entities such as regional development authorities. Eligibility guidelines are available at www.aesl.gov.nl.ca/pdf/MC_Guidelines_RFP_ApplicationForm_EN.pdf .

Applications are available at www.aesl.gov.nl.ca/immigration.html and will be accepted until January 26, 2018.
