Contract Awarded for Next Phase of Team Gushue Highway

A tender valued at over $15.2 million has been awarded to Municipal Construction Ltd. for the completion of the next phase of the Team Gushue Highway.

Budget 2017 allocates $21.2 million to advance the Team Gushue Highway extension, as part of the Provincial Governments Multi-Year Plan for Infrastructure Investments which commits nearly $3 billion over five years in new and existing schools, hospitals, highways and municipal infrastructure.

The next phase of the project, which will extend the highway from Kenmount Road to Topsail Road, includes crushing activities, paving, construction of a concrete median, street lighting, overhead sign bridge structures, and the Topsail Square underpass.

The Team Gushue Highway project is cost-shared with the Federal Government under the Building Canada Fund. Approximately $38.2 million has already been invested in the project.
