Sea trials and crew training for the MV Legionnaire are nearing completion and the vessel will depart St. John’s harbour on Sunday, February 5, to replace the MV Veteran on the Farewell-Fogo Island-Change Islands run. The Legionnaire will enter service on Tuesday, February 7.
The Veteran is scheduled to undergo a two-week planned maintenance and upon its return, the Legionnaire will be docked in Lewisporte until it enters service on the Bell Island run.
Work continues on upgrades to the wharves at Portugal Cove and Bell Island which are necessary to accommodate the Legionnaire. An update will be provided when timelines for completion of the project and the vessel’s entry into service for Bell Island are determined.
