Public Advisory: Exit Plan for St. Kevin’s Parish Chase the Ace Draw

In accordance with an amendment to the Chase the Ace licence for St. Kevin’s Parish, the following rules will apply for the final draw on Wednesday, August 30, 2017:

  • Ticket sales will be permitted at St. Kevin’s Parish Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

  • Winning tickets must be verified within 15 minutes of being drawn, at one of four locations:
    • St. Kevin’s Parish Hall
    • St. Kevin’s High School
    • RONA, Main Highway
    • St. John’s Racing and Entertainment Centre, Lakeview Drive

  • The winning ticket number shall be announced a minimum of three times by both audio and visual means within 15 minutes.

  • Upon verification of the first ticket drawn, the ticket holder shall have the opportunity to choose a card. If the ace of spades is selected, the winner shall receive the consolation prize and the escalating jackpot. The event then concludes.

  • If the ace of spades is not selected the ticket holder shall receive the consolation prize, based on 20 per cent of the sales for August 30, 2017. The card drawn is defaced.

  • Subsequent draws shall not take place before the preceding draw is complete. The 15 minute rule will apply to all subsequent draws.

  • Subsequent validated ticket holders shall have the opportunity to choose a card. Each subsequent validated ticket holder who does not select the ace of spades shall receive a $25,000 consolation prize.

  • The validated ticket holder who reveals the ace of spades shall receive the escalating jackpot only and is not eligible to receive any consolation prize.
