Media Advisory: Minister Trimper to Announce Changes to the Highway Traffic Act to Reduce Impaired Driving

The Honourable Perry Trimper, Minister of Service NL, will announce details regarding proposed changes to the Highway Traffic Act designed to reduce impaired driving. Minister Trimper will be joined by Patricia Hynes-Coates, National President of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The event will take place tomorrow (Thursday, March 2), 11:30 a.m., in the Media Centre, East Block, Confederation Building.

A technical briefing for media will begin at 11:00 a.m. The briefing will provide details of the proposed amendments.

Media planning to attend are asked to pre-register via email (doriswalsh@gov.nl.ca) or telephone 709-729-3812. Those who do not pre-register will have to proceed through the visitor entrance to access Confederation Building. All registered media will have access through the northeast entrance.
