Minister Coady Welcomes Seventh New Entrant to Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore

Today, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, welcomed the seventh new entrant to the province's offshore oil and gas industry in just over a year.

"It is exciting news for Newfoundland and Labrador that we have now reached seven new entrants to our offshore industry in just over a year. Much work has been done by the Provincial Government, Nalcor and our industry partners to encourage exploration and development in the oil and gas industry, and this includes attracting new entrants. I welcome Total E&P Canada to our growing list of new entrants including Nexen, BP, Hess Canada Oil and Gas, Noble Energy Canada, Delek Group (Navitas Petroleum Ltd. and DKL Investments Ltd.) and Anadarko."
- The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources

Total E&P Canada Limited joins Suncor Energy Offshore Exploration Partnership and ExxonMobil Canada Limited in a transfer of interest in EL-1136; a parcel of land in the Carson Basin area just south of the prolific producing Jeanne D'Arc Basin. Each stakeholder now holds an interest of approximately 33 per cent.
