Municipal Representatives to Board of Directors Elected

The Municipal Assessment Agency is pleased to announce the result of the recent election for six municipal representatives to its Board of Directors. The voting was conducted by a mail/fax ballot following the municipal elections. Elected to a four-year term are:

  • Avalon – Mayor Betty Moore, Clarke’s Beach
  • Central – Mayor Jason Roberts, Triton
  • Eastern – Mayor Paul Pike, St. Lawrence
  • Labrador - Councillor Deborah Barney, L’Anse Au Loup
  • Urban – Councillor Peggy Roche, Torbay
  • Western – Mayor Dean Ball, Deer Lake

“Thank you to all 20 candidates who participated in this process and congratulations to the successful officials,” said Mayor Ball, Board Chair. With the exception of Mayor Roberts of Triton, all of the directors are returning for another term. Mayor Roberts will replace Bob Hobbs, Bishop Falls, who has retired from municipal politics. The elected members will join:

  • Mayor Roger Barrett, Reidville (Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador representative)
  • Vida Greening, Port Blandford (Professional Municipal Administrators representative)
  • Dave Denine, Mount Pearl (taxpayer representative)
  • Dave Blundon, Gander (taxpayer representative)

The first meeting of the newly constituted board is scheduled for February 9, 2017, in Port Blandford.
