Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

New Bay Road Trauma Recovery Centre                                           (Reg.1896)
Proponent: Chiron Wellness Centre

The proponent has submitted a proposal for the development of 19.32 hectares of land for the construction and operation of a 16-bedroom trauma recovery centre, located off New Bay Road approximately 6.5 km north of Wooddale Farms near Grand Falls-Windsor. The undertaking will involve the construction of the trauma recovery facility, accessory buildings, a network of walking trails and approximately 100 metres of new access road. The purpose of the project is to provide treatment in a peaceful rural setting to those who suffer with trauma. The project is scheduled to commence by fall 2017.

The undertaking was registered on May 29, 2017; the deadline for public comments is July 4, 2017; and the minister’s decision is due by July 13, 2017.
