Public Advisory: Chemical Water Testing in Central Region Complete

Chemical water testing in the central region of the province has been completed. Testing indicated no health related contaminant exceedances that required resampling, and results indicate no risk to public health and safety.

Sampling commenced on April 6, 2017, in response to an interruption in chemical water testing in the central region from June 2016 to the present. The region included the Baie Verte Peninsula to the Notre Dame Bay area, including Fogo Island and the south coast.

Full processes of chemical water sampling by the Water Resources Management Division of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment have been restored as normal in this region, and will continue at regular intervals.

The Water Resources Management Division’s reports on drinking water quality are available here: www.mae.gov.nl.ca/waterres/whatsnew/index.html#2017
