The Office of the Child and Youth Advocate Launches Diversity and Inclusion Poster

The Office of the Child and Youth Advocate is excited to launch its new poster promoting a message of diversity and inclusion. The poster can be viewed here.

The poster depicts the colours of the Pride flag and has a bold message “This is a Positive Space that Welcomes and Supports Everyone”. LGBTQ2S members of our communities frequently experience stigmatization and are unsure which spaces are safe and supportive. This is especially true for young people. Jackie Lake Kavanagh, Provincial Child and Youth Advocate, stated “The Office of the Child and Youth Advocate wants young people and the community to understand that our space and our advocacy work is supportive and welcoming.”

The Office encourages government offices, schools, public agencies, community organizations and businesses to display the poster as a clear sign of support for LGBTQ2S young people. Jackie Lake Kavanagh further stated “This poster will be proudly displayed in our office, and we will happily make the poster available to those who also wish to display it.” The Office encourages everyone to embrace and celebrate the richness that a vibrant and diverse community offers.
