Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association Will Promote Sector Through Three-Year Marketing Plan

The Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association Inc. (NLOA) will use marketing and research to promote the provincial outfitting sector and build on previous initiatives designed to expand the outfitting sector within the provincial tourism industry. The Governments of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada are investing a total of $553,183 to support this marketing and research initiative.

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, today announced $142,707 from the Provincial Government while Gudie Hutchings, Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, announced $410,476 from ACOA’s Business Development Program.

NLOA’s marketing strategy, to be developed and implemented over the next three years, will position provincial outfitters to better brand, market and promote their products and services to international markets. The end result will be a focus on attracting new clients in existing markets, opening new markets, and streamlining marketing techniques to these areas.

This is the latest initiative being supported by the Provincial Government, which has committed in The Way Forward to double resident and non-resident visitor spending by 2020.
