Media Advisory: Minister Mitchelmore to Celebrate Tourism Awareness Week 2017
The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, will continue to celebrate Tourism Awareness Week 2017 with two events scheduled tomorrow (Tuesday, May 30).
At 11:00 a.m., Minister Mitchelmore will tour Newman Wine Vaults, located at 436 Water Street in St. John’s. This visit will also include a performance by the theatre group Shakespeare By The Sea, a community-based, charitable organization, that produces and promotes artistic works with a focus on William Shakespeare.
At 4:00 p.m., Minister Mitchelmore will attend Destination St. John’s Power Hour at the Masonic Temple, 6 Cathedral Street in St. John's.
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry, and Innovation is participating in events supporting Tourism Awareness Week 2017. In Canada, this week is a grassroots initiative that brings attention to the economic opportunity available through travel and tourism.
