Minister Mitchelmore Announces Launch Date of Provincial Park Season Reservation System

The Provincial Park Campsite Reservation Service will begin accepting reservations for the 2017 camping season at 7:00 a.m. on April 25. On that day, reservations can be made for parks in the western and Labrador region, followed by parks in the central and eastern region on April 26 and parks in the Avalon region on April 27. Details on specific campsites and their reservation dates can be found in the backgrounder below.

Once the reservation system is launched, the public can reserve sites by calling toll-free 1-877-214-CAMP (2267) or visiting External Link

As of April 18, campers are encouraged to visit External Link to create or update their user profile which is required when making a campsite reservation.

Seven provincial park campgrounds are scheduled to open for the Victoria Day weekend, while the six remaining campgrounds are scheduled to open in late May and early June.

There are 32 provincial parks throughout the Newfoundland and Labrador; including:

  • 13 camping parks
  • 10 park reserves
  • 7 day use parks
  • T'Railway Provincial Park
  • Main River Waterway Provincial Park

“Experiencing our provincial parks is a great way to explore the natural beauty and environment that our spectacular province has to offer. Camping is a wonderful way to bring together family and friends, and I encourage residents and visitors to reserve early and plan a stay at one of our many provincial parks this summer.”
Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore
Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation
