Minister Byrne Announces President and CEO (Interim) of College of the North Atlantic

Today, the Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, announced that Elizabeth Kidd has been appointed to the role of President and CEO (Interim) of the College of the North Atlantic.

“I am delighted that Ms. Kidd has decided to bring her wealth of experience in post-secondary education to the position of Interim President and CEO of College of the North Atlantic. With her leadership, I am confident the Provincial Government will achieve its vision, as noted in The Way Forward, of the college’s campuses throughout the province serving as regional centres of innovation, research, and development.”

Ms. Kidd began her tenure with College of the North Atlantic in 2016 as Vice President, Corporate Services. She previously spent more than two decades in leadership roles in both the private and public sectors, including as Vice President, Corporate Services, at Collège Boréal in Sudbury, Ontario.

BACKGROUNDER

Biography of Elizabeth Kidd
After more than 20 years in leadership roles, over 10 of which have been in post-secondary education, Elizabeth Kidd joined the College of the North Atlantic in June 2016 as Vice President, Corporate Services. As Vice President, Ms. Kidd served as the college’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, responsible for enterprise-wide, strategic leadership for a range of corporate services that support and sustain the operation of the college. Ms. Kidd is fluent in both French and English. She is a Certified Professional Accountant, and completed her undergraduate studies in Business Administration at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.
