Minister Extends Congratulations to Outgoing Grenfell Vice-President

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, is congratulating Dr. Mary Bluechardt as she moves on to the role of President of Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Bluechardt had served for the past five years as the Vice-President, Grenfell Campus of Memorial University.

“Memorial University is indebted to the contributions made by Dr. Bluechardt during her tenure as Vice-President, Grenfell Campus. Her experience and leadership have been instrumental in advancing the mission of the Grenfell community since taking on the role in July 2011. I personally wish to acknowledge Dr. Bluechardt’s contributions to our university community and wish her every success in her new role at Mount Saint Vincent University.”

In 2015, Dr. Bluechardt completed the development of the Grenfell Campus Strategic Plan for 2015-20, Vision 20/20. Her contributions during her tenure see the Grenfell Campus well prepared to enrich the personal, economic and cultural lives of the Grenfell community.

With the departure of Dr. Bluechardt, Memorial University will now begin a search for a new Vice-President for Grenfell Campus in accordance with the Procedures Governing the Appointment, Review, Promotion and Tenure of Academic Administrators.
