Public Advisory: MV Beaumont Hamel Returning to Service

Travellers are advised that repairs to the MV Beaumont Hamel have been completed and the vessel will join the MV Flanders to provide service between Bell Island and Portugal Cove, beginning tomorrow, Saturday, December 24, at 12:00 noon.

Repairs to the vessel included the replacement of bushings and pins on the vessel's ramps, the modernization of the bow visor's mechanical locking system, upgrades to the vessel's propulsion motors and enhancements to the bow thrust motor.

The MV Legionnaire is expected to begin servicing the route in early 2017, at which time the MV Flanders will go into refit, replaced by the MV Beaumont Hamel. When the MV Flanders returns to service, the MV Beaumont Hamel will serve as a swing vessel for the province.
