The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is inviting the general public to attend the 30th annual Christmas Lights Across Canada celebration. The event will take place on Thursday, December 8, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Confederation Building, East Block.

At the event, approximately 60,000 LED lights will be lit on the Christmas tree in front of the Confederation Building and along Prince Phillip Drive. Entertainment will be provided by the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band, Larkhall Academy Elementary School Choir, along with the Mary Queen of Peace Student Leadership Team. Refreshments will be served after the Christmas lights have been illuminated.

The Honourable Cathy Bennett, Minister of Finance, and the Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Transportation and Works, will participate in this year's event on behalf of the Provincial Government.
