Public Advisory: Gander Pool to Remain Closed During the Month of October
Residents of the Gander region are advised that the Arts and Culture Centre Pool in Gander, which has been closed since the last week of August for annual maintenance, will remain closed during the month of October.
Initial assessments of the pool during the maintenance period found deterioration in roof joists at the facility. It has been determined that structural repairs to the pool's roof are necessary to ensure the safety of pool users and staff. Options for remediation are currently being evaluated.
Residents are advised that there is no impact to the operation of the Gander Arts and Culture Centre theatre.
An update on progress and potential reopening timelines for the pool will be provided in late October.
Once a determination has been made on possible timing for a fall opening, pool staff will assess options for making adjustments to fall programs.
All current registrations for fall programs will be honoured once the pool reopens. Individuals or groups seeking to withdraw their current registration and receive a refund can call 709-256-1283.
