Public Advisory: Mill Bridge in Grand Falls-Windsor to Remain Closed Over the Weekend

The bridge spanning the Exploits River behind the former paper mill property in Grand Falls-Windsor will remain closed over the weekend with an update on its reopening to be provided on Monday, August 22.

The bridge was anticipated to reopen on Sunday, August 21, at 7:00 p.m. Work will continue over the weekend to complete the necessary repairs.

The closure was necessary to repair the bridge which was damaged as the result of an accident. Closure of the bridge ensures the safety of workers, pedestrians and motorists and allows the work to be completed as quickly as possible.

The department has been working with the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, as well as business owners, to help reduce any impacts on businesses in the area.

The Department of Transportation and Works apologizes for any inconvenience during the closure.
