Public Advisory: Contingency Planning Underway for Fogo Island and Change Islands Ferry Service

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that contingency air services are being arranged for ferry users of Fogo Island and Change Islands while repairs are carried out to the MV Veteran. The vessel experienced a mechanical issue this morning (Monday, February 1). The timeline for completion of the repair work is being determined.

Both a fixed wing airplane and helicopter air service will be implemented beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, February 2), weather permitting. Details on the schedule will be posted online at www.tw.gov.nl.ca/ferryservices/schedules/c_fogo.html when finalized with the service providers.
