Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary to Attend Stars and Legends Gala

Derek Bennett, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development, will address attendees at the annual Stars and Legends Gala, hosted by Sport Newfoundland and Labrador tomorrow (Saturday, April 16) at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in St. John�s. The event begins at 7:00 p.m.

The Stars and Legends Gala will include the presentation of this year�s provincial annual sport awards including Senior Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Junior Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, Executive of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. This year�s inductees to the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Hall of Fame � Sandy Faulkner Ash and Nigel Facey (Athlete category), and hockey personality, Howie Meeker (Builder category/hockey) � will also be honoured at the event.
