Healthy Eating, One Meal at a Time

Nutrition Month Focuses on Making Small, Positive Changes to Diet

March is Nutrition Month and this years theme is Take a 100 Meal Journey: Make Small Changes, One Meal at a Time.

Our government is committed to working with our partners to develop a health promotion and healthy living strategy, and to promote active, healthy lifestyles as a way of life in Newfoundland and Labrador. Nutrition Month is an opportunity to focus on the importance of healthy eating in the pursuit of that goal, and the positive impact it has on our overall health.
- The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development

Nutrition Month is an initiative of Dietitians of Canada, the association which represents registered dietitians across the country. There are more than 100 members in Newfoundland and Labrador. This years campaign focuses on providing strategies that inspire people to make small, positive changes to their diet and to making those changes last.

Canadians consume almost 100 meals each month. Making small, simple dietary changes during Nutrition Month can set the stage for longer-term healthy eating, which is an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Lisa Dooley, Chair, Dietitians of Newfoundland and Labrador
