Supporting Community Health and Wellness

Applications Available for Community Healthy Living Fund

The Provincial Government is inviting applications for the Community Healthy Living Fund (CHLF), which was established in 2015 to streamline support for community groups, recreation committees and organizations offering physical activity, healthy living and wellness programs throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

"I encourage eligible community groups and organizations which are committed to recreation, healthy living and wellness initiatives to apply for funding through the Community Healthy Living Fund. Together, we can help create environments and opportunities for people of all ages to pursue healthy, active lifestyles."
- The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development

Applications for the fund may be submitted year-round, on an ongoing basis, and support a wide range of wellness initiatives and activities under three categories: Capacity Building, Programs, and Supportive Environments. For more information, including program guidelines and applications, see: www.swsd.gov.nl.ca/grants/chl_fund.html.

The Community Healthy Living Fund replaced the former Seniors Recreation Grant Program, the Provincial Health and Wellness Grant Program, the Age-Friendly Newfoundland and Labrador Organization Grant Program, the Community Recreation Support Program (including the Community Capital Grant Program, Physical Activity Equipment Grant Program and the Community Recreation Development Grant Program). The total funding amount available for community grants remained the same.

All organizations eligible for funding under previous programs are eligible to apply under the Community Healthy Living Fund.
