Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner - Report A-2016-017 Released

The Information and Privacy Commissioner, Donovan Molloy, has released his Report A-2016-017 under authority of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act. A summary of the Report is included below.

Summary: An applicant requested information about casinos from the Office of the Premier. The Office of the Premier was prepared to disclose the information, but decided to notify a Third Party about its decision to release. The Third Party filed a complaint with this Office, arguing that disclosure would violate section 39 of the Act (disclosure harmful to the business interests of a third party.) The Commissioner found that the test in section 39 had not been met, and recommended disclosure of the information.
