Media Advisory: Minister Parsons to Address Welcoming Ceremony for Justice Malcolm Rowe

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, will address a welcoming ceremony on Friday, December 2, in honour of the appointment of the Honourable Mr. Justice Malcolm Rowe as justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

The ceremony, being held in the courtroom of the Supreme Court of Canada beginning at 2:30 p.m. EST., will be webcast live at www.scc-csc.ca/court-cour/judges-juges/bio-eng.aspx?id=malcolm-rowe External Link Icon.

On October 17, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the nomination of Justice Malcolm Rowe for the Supreme Court of Canada. On October 25 Justice Rowe took part in a question and answer session before the House of Commons Justice and Human Rights Committee and the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee, as well as representatives of the Bloc Quebecois and Green Party. On October 29, he was formally appointed as Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
